Astro Machine Works is a growing 100% Employee-Owned Company located in Ephrata, PA . Founded in 1984, we are a comprehensive machining and fabrication facility specializing in custom machine building, machined parts and fabrication.
Astro Machine Works is seeking a Full Saw Operator to operate power saws to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim metallic and nonmetallic workpieces according to specifications, receive inventory for the shop and deburr/finish parts.

Hours/ScheduleThis is a first shift position with core hours approximately 6AM-3:30PM. Flex schedule is available, and overtime is required as well as occasional Saturday 4-hr AM shifts.
Pay range $20-24 per hour
Responsibilities - Operates battery of circular saws, bandsaws, belt sander and tumbler - Reads blueprints for job specifications - Utilizes precision measuring equipment - Unloads all incoming steel trucks and properly marks material - Receives raw materials, issues raw materials and closes out operation in the computer system - Deburr all parts in their finishing steps - Maintain a clean and organized work area - May assist maintenance personnel with saw maintenance and repair - Work in a safe manner always following established policies and procedures

Experience/Requirements - High School Diploma or GED - Possess and maintain a valid PA driver's license with safe driving history - Experience operating a saw, hand tools, etc. - Experience with forklift, tow motor, pallet jack - Understanding of shop mathematics together with engineering drawings, specifications, and various types of precision measuring instruments - Computer skills - Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, to communicate effectively with transportation vendors and legibly complete required paperwork - Customer Service Skills for internal customers - Willingness to work Overtime and Saturdays as required - Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift, push, pull 100lbs - Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. - Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. - Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events - Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
