is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team of IT experts at
the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Office of the Chief
Information Officer (OCIO). As a member of our data science team,
you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining
scalable and efficient data pipelines to support business
requirements and analytics. You will collaborate with data
architects, software engineers, and IT teams to integrate data
solutions with applications and services.Our company offers

- Design, Build, and Maintain Data Pipelines: Design, build, and
maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to ingest, process,
and store data from various sources.
- Develop ETL Processes: Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
processes to ensure data is properly cleaned, transformed, and
integrated for analysis.
- Collaborate with Data Architects: Collaborate with data
architects to design and implement data models and schemas that
support business requirements and analytics.
- Optimize Database Performance: Manage and optimize databases,
including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases, to
ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Implement Data Quality Checks: Implement data quality checks
and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of
data.
- Integrate Data from Various Sources: Integrate data from
various internal and external sources, including APIs, third-party
services, and legacy systems.
- Monitor Data Pipeline Performance: Monitor data pipeline
performance and address issues related to data ingestion,
processing, and storage.
- Implement Data Security Measures: Implement data security
measures to protect sensitive and critical data from unauthorized
access and breaches.
- Maintain Comprehensive Documentation: Maintain comprehensive
documentation of data pipelines, workflows, data models, and
processes.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare and present reports on data
engineering projects, performance metrics, and improvements to
management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate Data Engineering Tools: Evaluate and recommend data
engineering tools, technologies, and platforms to support the
organization's data strategy.
- Stay Informed about Emerging Trends: Stay informed about
emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and
incorporate relevant innovations.Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related
field, or equivalent experience as a senior IT professional.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and database
management, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL)
databases.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data engineering tools and their
integration with on-premises infrastructure.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices to manage data
standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks
effectively, and maintain detailed documentation of data-related
activities.
- Possess excellent communication skills, be able to work
collaboratively with other teams, and stay current with
advancements in data science and engineering
technologies.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Agility in adapting to changing priorities: The ability to
update/pivot from a given plan in order to refocus resources
elsewhere as needed.
- Collaborative mindset: Experience working collaboratively with
cross-functional teams, including software engineers, IT
professionals, and stakeholders.

with the ability to analyze complex data engineering issues and
develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute on a day
