AAP distinguishes itself through its intensive instructional assistance, selective admissions, and over 60 dedicated full-time faculty. For more information, please see .Position DescriptionAdvanced Academic Programs invites applications for a program coordinator in the Applied Economics program. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month, renewable faculty position with the academic title of Lecturer or Sr. Lecturer.The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses and providing administrative support. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in teaching both in-person and asynchronous online courses, working with full-time and part-time graduate students, and engaging with diverse student populations. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in-person classes. The position includes significant collaboration with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, and other Program Coordinators. For more information on the Applied Economics program, please visit .The expected salary range for this position is $80,200 - $109,000.The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate - e.g., years in rank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similar factors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; and other factors as reasonably determined by the University.ResponsibilitiesFaculty Responsibilities

  • Teach (in-person and online) 6 graduate courses per year
  • Advise students from diverse backgrounds
  • Providing innovative leadership for curriculum design and new course development
  • Participating in course and program assessment activities
  • University serviceAdministrative Responsibilities
    • Participate in adjunct faculty hiring, development, and mentoring
    • Assist in the admissions process
    • Assist in the planning of onsite and/or remote events and/or seminarsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
      • Master's degree in Economics or in a related field
      • 1-3 years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience
      • The ability to teach a wide variety of economics coursesPreferred Qualifications
        • Ph.D. in Economics or in a related field
        • 4 or more years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience
        • 1-3 years of economics-related work experience, for example, government service or serving as a consultant with companies or for the government
        • Strong organizational skills
        • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines
        • Excellent oral and written communication skills
