Software Engineer will design, develop, maintain, improve, test
commercial unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) software for embedded
on-board flight computers and ground control station, simulator,
and interfacing modules.Your Challenges:
- Conceptualize and design new software features.
- Gather requirements and design the software model for the
required features.
- Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, well-annotated
code.
- Thoroughly test software in standalone and hardware-in-the-loop
simulation.
- Continually improve existing software, troubleshooting and
debugging complex technical issues.
- Identify and track risks, issues, and opportunities for
improvement in software and system design.
- Support the creation of and/or write user manuals for use of
software.
- Document engineering concepts, design, test results, and
analysis in technical reports.
- Support flight testing as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of software engineering best
practices, architecture, languages, and tools.
- Implement best practices in work and recommend improvements to
current practices.
- Transfer knowledge of system and software design to peers.Your
Boarding Pass:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 years experience in software development, design and
engineering (i.e., C++, C#).
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding and documenting
advanced technical, engineering, and scientific concepts.
- Proven experience writing clean, maintainable, reusable code
using engineering standard methodologies.
- Knowledge in working with software, including Microsoft Office,
Git, DITA, XML, and Jira.Physical Requirements:
- Onsite: 100% - onsite in Bingen, Washington.
- Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other
electronic equipment with screens.
- Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person
and via teleconference or phone.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal
electronic equipment.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic
equipment up to 10lbs.
- Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment
up to 10lbs.
- Pushing/Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture
occasionally.
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings,
working on computer.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice
rarely.
- Walking: able to walk through office and production areas
including uneven surfaces.Ability to work in the US without
current, or future, need for visa sponsorship/work authorization is
required for this opportunity.Summary pay range: $93,280 - $114,480
