Job Description:
Modis seeks a senior systems analyst for a contract to
hire job with our client in Reston, VA.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Arts from
an accredited college or university.
Experience / Subject Matter Expertise Required:
• 3+ years of overall IT experience with systems development
lifecycle experience using structured methodologies in requirements
management, process/data analysis and quality control
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them
into system requirements
• Demonstrated experience and hands-on involvement in software
quality control -- e.g.,
integration/system/regression/performance/user acceptance
testing
• Proven experience contributing to all phases of the software
development lifecycle
• Must have had experience working with relational databases and
querying data for analysis, testing and research
Experience / Subject Matter Expertise Preferred:
• Proficiency with state healthcare programs (e.g., Medicaid, CHIP)
and related functions (e.g., enrollment management, eligibility
determination)
• Experience with standardized process/quality oriented frameworks
and methodologies (e.g., ISO, CMMI, Six Sigma)
• Understanding and experience working with data warehousing
concepts and tools
Personal/Soft Skills:
• Consultative mindset applied to solution definition/delivery and
problem solving
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written
communication skills
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline oriented
work environment
• Ability to successfully execute multiple complex tasks
simultaneously
• Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
• Excellent analytical skills
• Willing to travel occasionally
1. Support and actively participate in the systems requirements and
specifications gathering, review and verification processes
2. Translate business requirements into system specifications and
functional designs
3. Support and actively contribute to the elaboration and execution
of the various test strategies applicable to the systems
projects
4. Review and monitor execution and completion of system
processes
5. Establish and perform quality reviews of process outputs
6. Perform activities required to produce system documentation
(e.g., design specifications, user manuals) and provide end user
training as needed
7. Serve as the point of contact and client interface for data and
functional analysis
8. Participate in project meetings to represent client in
addressing needs of the client and other project stakeholders
