Job Description:

Seeking a JAVA Developer within Health Technology Solutions to be responsible for contributing to all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

The Java Developer will be responsible for assisting the delivery of custom web applications from concept to completion.

You will be assisting the team in development, testing and maintenance of the web applications. Works in a structured manner following SDLC processes like CMMI, Agile and SCRUM practices.

The JAVA Developer will work on new and existing application for a variety of Federal clients in the health Market, building custom applications for unique client needs.

The ideal candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing priorities and assignments.

The candidate must have strong technical aptitude and be current on modern technologies.

Responsibilities:

Assists in functional enhancements from design and architecture through development and unit testing.

Hands-on participation in the design, development, and testing of web applications using JAVA Technologies based on agreed schedules and established best practices.

Ensures the quality of final deliverables and closely works with the infrastructure team for implementation.

Builds, tests, and delivers high quality, complex applications; diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues.

Assists in code review sessions with other developers and suggests appropriate improvements or alternatives. Implements code development best practices.

Works with the Technical Lead or Project Manager to meet software development standards.

Delivers results through effective teamwork, communication and collaboration.

Required Skills

Ability in designing systems that meet Federal regulatory requirements for Accessibility (508) and overall best practices for user experience.

Exhibit clear verbal and written communication skills.

Required Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 5+ years of related experience.

Minimum 4+ years of proven hands-on experience JAVA web application development experience.

Experience developing software using a formal and structured development methodology.

Hands-on experience with JAVA and J2EE technologies (J2EE development, Java6/Java7, Struts2, Tiles framework, MVC, XML, Apache Web Server, Tomcat 6/7)

Hands-on experience with J2EE IDEs, like Eclipse, Net Beans, etc.

Exposure to various J2EE patterns and web services.

Working experience with SVN server and Tortoise SVN.

Testing experience and exposure to test automation using Selenium.

Exposure to ORACLE database.

Exposure to Unix operating system.

Exposure to Iterative approach to development, using short development cycles and frequent builds; have practiced Agile/SCRUM
