Job Description:

Ensure the solution architecture will support business objectives, including reliability, performance, scalability, flexibility, security, and maintainability, and strike balance between practical designs and alignment with the architectural vision in building complicated web applications and frameworks

• Provide directions and coordination between multiple teams (development, CI, Infrastructure) and government stakeholders

• Provide hands-on technical and best practice direction to project teams and oversee the work of team members to ensure they meet or exceed performance standards

• Present technology vision and solutions to government stakeholders

• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the individual to simultaneously manage several tasks, while paying attention to detail and quality

• Engage with client personnel at all levels to explain complex technical concepts and brief on progress of various technical initiatives

Requirements

• 10+ years of technology leadership experience, with strong infrastructure and development background

• Hands-on technical practitioner and individual contributor

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and government organizations

• Broad experience supporting applications commonly used by developers such as items on JVM, web applications, messaging tools, ticketing system

• Working experience with monitoring systems, continuous integration systems, middleware & database components with Puppet & Chef

• Prior success in deploying to production

• Knowledge of IP networking, VNPs, DNS, load balancing and firewalling

• Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (REST)

• Experience with application and network virtualization technologies is highly desirable

• Experience with VMWare monitoring, cloud computing is highly desirable

Education:

• Bachelor?s Degree in a complimentary discipline required, Masters Degree in a technical or business discipline is preferred
