Job Opening - Sr. Linux Systems Engineer - Washington, DC
 
We are currently recruiting for a contract to hire need in downtown Washington, DC for a Sr. Linux Engineer with the following experience:
 
7-10 years of hands-on experience as a sys admin / technical lead
 
• Ensure overall continuity of operations across all servers/environments
 
• Provide advanced Linux administration, including:
 
o Patching support, system maintenance
 
o Package install / uninstall using YUM or RPM
 
o Write Shell scripts, Manage mount points, Configure system files
 
o Ensure proper encryption/decryption of mount points
 
o Coordinate and provide design details for the AWS network configuration including subnets, ip addresses, network interfaces, and overall cloud configuration
 
o Work with DEV team to provide deployment procedures
 
o Manage all deployment artifacts
 
• Implement monitoring of production servers, services, database and application.
 
• Preferably RedHat Enterprise experienced.
 
Education Required
 
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, MIS or equivalent professional experience.
