operational representative and lead advocate in the design,
development, implementation, support and adoption of the electronic
medical record and other patient care systems. Works closely with
facility and corporate leaders, multi-disciplinary teams,
Information Technology, and Clinical Informatics to drive clinical
optimization in the transformation of patient care through the use
of technology. - - PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - - -
- Assists in analysis, problem solving, and process
re-engineering activities related to issues surrounding electronic
information systems. -
- Works with clinical subject matter experts (SME's) to analyze
their patient care requirements, map process models, design
technical solutions to satisfy requirements, documents detailed
specifications for IT build, then completes formal system
testing.
- Can recognize work arounds and other non-approved practices and
acts as a change agent in the development of workflow redesign to
maximize system functionality and efficiency.
- Monitors system adoption by identifying, collecting and
reporting baseline and post implementation metrics and data through
observations and audits for assigned projects
- Cultivates good working relationships with staff, department
management, physicians and executives by conducting rounds
providing assistance to end-users. Builds relationships by
demonstrating a clear and predictable service.
- Acts as a change agent; develops and reinforces adoption
strategies.
- Educates units on existing functionality, new enhancements and
upgrades.
- Applies clinical knowledge, systems and analysis skills,
knowledge of current and future computer applications, and project
planning and implementation skills to achieve defined objectives of
sustained technology solutions and processes.
- Identifies barriers to project success and communicates
effectively to application and project leaders to overcome
barriers
- Responds to requests with high level analysis. - - Evaluate
global need, value, and impact. - Route project-specific requests
to appropriate individual or team.
- Participates in committees pertinent to clinical application
system development and nursing.
- Leads policy and procedure development for specific
department/function responsibilities related to clinical
application systems.
- Develop and provide optimal roll out and evaluation strategies
in support of new projects/solutions (engage in projects at
implementation planning, execution, and evaluation phases)
- Maintain alignment of organizational focus, understand and
contribute to solutions (technology or process) for emerging
issues; identify integration points across efforts - - - - - - -

- Performs assigned work safely adhering to established
departmental safety rules and practices. - Reports to supervisor,
in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or
safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other
employees, patients and visitors
- Performs other related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in clinical discipline such as nursing, respiratory therapy
or other bedside clinical degree
- Master's degree in clinical discipline or information
technology preferred
- Five (5) years of experience in health care information systems
with emphasis on business and clinical analysis and process
improvement. -
- Cerner experience preferred
- Ambulatory or inpatient clinical experience preferred
