Job Summary Geisinger is seeking full-time Transplant
Hepatologists for our expanding Hepatology practice in Central
Pennsylvania.
Job Duties The ideal candidate should be: Board-eligible/certified
in Gastroenterology as well as Transplant Hepatology or
Board-eligible/certified in Hepatology with experience in or a
completed fellowship in Transplant Hepatology. Those who are
board-eligible/certified only in Gastroenterology but who have a
strong Hepatology focus, may also apply.This provider will join a
group of Hepatologists within the section of Hepatology in the
Division of Gastroenterology. The Section of Hepatology constitutes
three Transplant Hepatologists, two clinical pharmacists, nurse
coordinators, and houses HCV PROVENCARE program. In addition,
Gastroenterology is home to the Nutrition and Weight Management
program which works closely with Hepatology in managing patients
and running clinical trials for those with fatty liver disease.The
candidate must possess outstanding clinical, teaching, and
interpersonal skills with a collegial attitude to work within a
multidisciplinary group of physicians including transplant
surgeons, oncologists, and interventional radiologists. This
individual will devote most of his/her time to practicing General
Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology. The clinical responsibilities
include attending inpatient Hepatology Service, outpatient
Hepatology Clinics and performing endoscopy. This candidate is
expected to expand our liver transplant program. This candidate
will be involved in patient selection committee, liver transplant
clinic, and outreach. Since Geisinger Health System constitutes
Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, supports an outstanding
GI fellowship program, and an internal medicine program, this
candidate will be involved in teaching GI fellows, Internal
Medicine residents and medical students. Clinical research is
highly encouraged and excellent statistical support as well as
