Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice at Lancaster General Health. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care, adhering to the American Nurses Association standards of nursing practice.
• Provide direct care to patients, demonstrating a commitment to safety, quality, and patient-centered care.
• Work collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of patients.
• Participate in process improvement activities, focusing on increasing continuity in the nurse-to-patient relationship, minimizing rework, and enhancing the overall quality of care.
• Complete mandatory education and training, including review of age-specific needs, caring behaviors, and interpersonal skills.
• Comply with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies.Requirements
  • RN licensure, issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained.
  • A graduate registered nurse may only practice professional nursing under supervision and if the graduate registered nurse holds a current temporary practice permit.
  • Successful completion of the Nurse Residency Program.
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • For Magnet designated RN positions, BSN or higher level nursing degree is required for incumbents based upon previously established parameters.Physical RequirementsThe position requires the ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. The individual must be able to attend to environmental detail with the ability to separate essential from non-essential or irrelevant stimuli.Working ConditionsThe position involves exposure to biohazardous waste, blood-borne pathogens, and radioactive agents.
