Job Description BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems is seeking a
Manager to lead the Manufacturing Configuration Management team.
This role will be tasked to provide guidance and management of
technical support for the change management process across multiple
manufacturing sites. The change management process consists of the
implementation of both engineering and production changes into the
manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM).At BAE Systems, we believe
in work-life balance and this position works a 9/80 schedule with
every other Friday off and hybrid on-site 3 days a week in York, PA
site. Other sites or remote work may be considered for well
qualified candidates.As the Manufacturing Configuration Manager,
you will:
- Direct MBOM and Drawing File BOM change management activities
related to vehicle fabrication, assembly and test.
- Provide both direct and indirect management of approximately
ten Configuration Management staff.
- Prioritize and process Manufacturing Change Notices (MCN's) and
provide direction for implementation plan.
- Review and analyze Technical Drawing Package (TDP) along with
change documents and compare to current Manufacturing Bill Of
Materials (MBOM)
- Identify impact to MBOM configuration, routings, assembly
setup, effectivity, material flow to the assembly floor and Work
Instructions.
- Work with other manufacturing functions to gather information
related to current configuration of the (MBOM).
- Provide technical input and guidance for finding solutions to
problems.
- Responsible for results of assigned functional staff and
overseeing all personnel related activities including performance
management, career development, coaching, training, hiring and
resolution of inter/intra group conflict.
- Track Daily MCN activities to ensure cycle times and accuracy
are met and provide assistance to resolve barriers.
- Maintain weekly reports for MCN teams performance (Through-put
and DLH standards).Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- 8 Years with a bachelor's degree in a technical area and/or
equivalent combination of education and experience
- Leadership and people development experience
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with reading drawings for multiple programs
(TDP)
- Knowledge of Bills Of Material (BOM)
- Knowledge/Experience with Enterprise Product Data Management
System (EPDM)
- Experience using OBIEE to export file used to highlight changes
to MBOM
- Experience with Oracle including Item Master, Drawing File,
Bills of Material, Routings, and OSP
- Experience with Excel systems
- Understanding of processes to build and make products such as
sub-assembly, installation, machining, welding, paint, marking,
etc.
- May consider candidates who do not meet all the above
requirements for a more junior rolePreferred Education, Experience,
& Skills
- Engineering experience with relevant applications in a defense
environment a plus
- Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and
commercial design standards a plus
- Knowledge of Excel systems coding and macros is a plus
- Experience of Manufacturing processes including Weld, Assembly,
and Final Operations
- Experience of the change process for Material Control in
Manufacturing such as job release, modifications, floorstock, on
hand, etc.
- Experience with Power BI for metrics and dashboardsPay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
